An international symposium has been organised to mark the 10th anniversary of the European Group on Graves' Orbitopathy (EUGOGO). A multidisciplinary approach to this still poorly understood but often disfiguring and invalidating disease is essential for improving patient care and advancing scientific understanding. Sessions will be devoted to new developments in immunopathogenesis, clinical assessment and medical and surgical treatment of thyroid eye disease. The outcome of a number of randomised clinical trials will be presented. The symposium will be held at the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences, Amsterdam on 29-30 October 2009.
