A Case of Regional Success

06 Jan 2009

The first of the Society's Regional Clinical Cases meetings, held in association with the Midlands Endocrine Club (MEC), took place on Monday 8 December at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. The event attracted a large number of delegates - 67; the majority were trainees from the local region but one delegate had travelled all the way from Glasgow! The meeting included seminars from two internationally renowned speakers (Professor Philipp Scherer, Dallas and Professor John Wass, Oxford), 10 oral case presentations and 11 posters. The presence of a number of senior clinical academics ensured that there was an exchange of ideas on current thinking on clinical issues and valuable feedback for the oral and poster presenters. Professor Wass (Chairman, SfE) commented on how pleasing it was to see that such a high standard of cases had been submitted. Professors Paul Stewart and Sudesh Kumar and Dr Probal Moulik (MEC) wanted to thank all the participants, especially the trainees, for the part they played in making the meeting such a success. The next Regional Clinical Cases meeting will be held in Edinburgh on 4 December 2009, but the next National Clinical Cases meeting will take place in London on 10 February 2009 - click on the link below for further details.
