Cancer diagnoses decreased significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic, due to patients’ fear of contracting the virus when seeking medical care. The European Commission’s Beating Cancer Plan aims to address this delay in diagnosis, improve cancer patient care, and prevent cancer-related deaths.
