Endocrine Specialist Nurse, London

23 Dec 2008

A full-time permanent Band 7 post of Endocrine Specialist Nurse is available within Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London. Due to recent expansion of the Endocrinology services within Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust we have developed a new Endocrine Specialist Nurse post to work in conjunction with the existing team. The team consists of one other Band 7 Specialist Nurse, 5 consultants, and receives support from the diabetes and endocrinology clinic staff for endocrine testing. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your existing skills in endocrinology and contribute to the service’s development. There are weekly multi-disciplinary meetings with radiology and biochemistry. Team meetings for education and development are held on a weekly basis with bi-weekly post clinic discussion forums. Whilst holding a clinical caseload, the practitioner will contribute to the enhancement of endocrine nursing by acting as a credible role model, educator and expert clinician. In addition to the provision of clinical care and development of training packages, he/she will be closely involved in establishing and developing interdisciplinary care pathways, protocols and audits. The closing date for applications is 20 January 2009.
