The Journal of Endocrinology (JOE) turns 70 this year! All delegates at SfE BES 2009 are invited to join us to celebrate this milestone at the Welcome Reception at 19:00, Monday 16 March 2009 at the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate. JOE was launched in 1939 by a group of 10 renowned scientists, all contributing £20 to cover the costs of the journal. Publishing four times a year, with 250 subscribers and an annual subscription of 30 shillings, JOE has developed over the years in line with the inexorable rise of endocrinology. This year JOE celebrates 70 years of publishing with 12 issues a year in print and online, a thoroughly international editorial board, and over 42,000 online users each month!
