Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a hormone produced by the kidneys that helps to control the concentration of calcium in the blood and is vital for the development of strong bones.

venous thrombosis

is a blood clot that forms within a vein, with deep vein thrombosis being one of the most common forms.

virilisation

the development of male characteristics (deepening of the voice, facial hair, increase in muscle bulk) in a female or earlier than expected in a male.

vitiligo

a lack of pigment in the skin that causes white patches to appear in several areas including on the hands, face and neck.

von Hippel-Lindau disease

a very rare inherited condition that causes presence of multiple tumours arising in several organs across the body including in the brain, spinal cord and eyes.
