MRC Studentships: Monitoring of chronic disease or management of diabetes and vascular disease

Applications are invited for two MRC Studentships to undertake a DPhil by research in the fields of primary care and public health. The Division of Public Health and Primary Health Care, University of Oxford, comprises two departments. The first studentship is available in the Department of Primary Health Care (DPHC). DPHC undertakes several research programmes including diabetes & vascular disease, and statistical aspects of monitoring chronic disease. This studentship will focus on either monitoring of chronic disease or management of diabetes and vascular disease. The second studentship is available in the Department of Public Health (DPH). DPH has a diverse range of research programmes including international health, health economics, health services research and bioethics. DPH is further described at: http://www.publichealth.ox.ac.uk. This studentship will focus upon patient reported outcome measurement. Applicants must be eligible for an MRC Studentship (see MRC Studentship Handbook at www.mrc.ac.uk) and for admission as a probationer research student to Oxford University (see graduate studies entrance requirements at www.admin.ox.ac.uk/postgraduate/apply). Studentships will cover all fees plus an annual stipend of £15,170 for a fixed term of three years. The closing date for applications is: 16 May 2008.
