The ESE would like to advise members that the ESE Memorandum and Articles of Association and Byelaws have recently been updated. As approved at the Annual General Meeting (6 May 2008) the Memorandum of Association has now been amended to reflect the ESE's status as a Charity in the dissolution clause 8. The simplified membership application process was also approved at the Annual General Meeting and both the Articles of Association (clause 2) and the Byelaws (clause 1.1a and clause 2) have been updated to reflect this change. At the last meeting, May 2008, of the ESE Executive Committee it was agreed to make the following amendments to the ESE Byelaws: a. To amend clause 2.3 by deleting "no reason need be given, but" from the beginning of the second sentence. b. To insert a new clause 9 regarding the approval of ESE Contracts and Agreements. Clause 9.1 states that "All contracts and official agreements and documents of the Society should be signed by the current President of the ESE and one other Executive Committee member".
