Gender identity disorder in adolescents - joint meeting with RSM

28 Aug 2008

The Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) in association with the Society for Endocrinology and the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) is holding a meeting on "Gender identity disorder in adolescents" on Wednesday 1 October 2008 at the RSM in London. The aims of this meeting are to address what Gender Identity Disorder (GID) is in an adolescent, from the perspective of its prevalence and natural history, and attempt to determine aetiology in relation to cognitive development and endocrine factors in utero. The recognition from functional imaging studies that even the structure of the brain is still maturing throughout adolescence adds further complexity to the assessment of GID in this age group. For this meeting, Society members may register at the same rate as RSM Fellow members. To view the full programme, and for details on how to register, please click on the link below.
