Research Associate in Airway Pharmacology - Manchester

Via www.newscientistjobs.com. The University of Manchester are seeking a Research Associate in Airway Pharmacology to work within the Respiratory Medicine Research Group. This is a full-time post which is tenable for 12 months in the first instance, and the salary will be £27,466 - £30,013 p.a. The successful candidate will work on a project investigating airway inflammation in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, focussing on nuclear hormone receptors in airway macrophages, including glucocorticoid, liver X and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors. Techniques will include cell culture, PCR, siRNA, protein quantification and immunoflourescence imaging. This translational research will take advantage of the access to human lung samples within a clinical research environment.
