The Department of Human Communication Sciences (University of Sheffield) has established a reputation for high-quality research and teaching in the field of human communication and its disorders. It maintains links with other university departments nationally and world wide, and received a 4* rating in the 2008 RAE.

The appointee will work on a research project to analyse speech data in relation to sex differences and hormone fluctuations in women. The project objective is to build a data archive to support statistical modelling of speech and related behavioural systems.

Applications are invited from individuals with a postgraduate degree in speech science, phonetics, psychology or a related discipline, and experience working with acoustic analysis of speech. This post is funded by the ESRC for a fixed term of 12 months with an anticipated start date of 1 June 2009.
