A huge database of over half a million drugs and drug-like small molecules has been made available to the public domain, thanks to substantial funding from the Wellcome Trust. The database contains over 2 million records on the compounds' properties including binding profiles, pharmacokinetics and toxicity, and is expected to stimulate the drug-discovery process by enhancing the participation of small-budget pharmaceutical companies and academics.
