BBSRC heralds 'Age of Bioscience' with launch of new strategic plan

29 Jan 2010

The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) has released a 5 year strategic plan outlining the framework that will help shape its direction and funding decisions.

The plan focuses on three research priorities; food security, bioenergy and industrial biotechnology, and basic bioscience underpinning health; and has three underpinning themes; knowledge exchange, innovation and skills, and exploiting new ways of working and partnerships.

With this plan the BBSRC hopes to benefit society and the UK economy by promoting innovation and strengthening collaboration in biosciences research.
