National Obesity Forum awards

The National Obesity Forum (NOF) are calling for applications for their Research Award and Best Practice Awards for excellence in weight management.

Research Award

In partnership with Weight Watchers, this award of up to £8,000 is to help support research in obesity management. The award also offers some research mentorship for a year. The award is open to any health care professional with day-to-day patient contact and should be related to adult or child weight management or weight maintenance. Application forms are available to download from the NOF website at the link below. Completed applications should be sent to Anna Sperring at anna@nof.uk.com by the closing date of 17 June 2011. The winner of the award will receive free attendance to the NOF 2011 conference and will be asked to present their findings at the 2012 conference.

Excellence in Weight Management 2011

The NOF is delighted to be able to continue presenting awards which celebrate outstanding success and excellence in weight management. In recognition of the diversity of exceptionally good practice in tackling obesity and reducing cardio-metabolic risk, there are four categories of entry: childhood and adolescents; workplace; primary care and community. Applications will be accepted from any team who can demonstrate successful and innovative approaches to weight management. Category prizes of £250 are on offer along with an overall national winner's prize of £1,000. Further details can be found at the website below.
